the effect that these conventions have on the audience is that it sets the entire mood of the film before it even starts, if it is edited badly/carelessly the audience already have the judgement in the back of their mind that its going to be a bad film. if the music doesnt match with the pictures they are viewing on the screen it will confuse the audience so they wont actually focus on the film they will be too busy trying to understsand that one portion
