1. how does our short film develop or challange forms and conventions of real media products?

I used the same filming process as a real media product by using the same basic stages of film/media production.

Delvelopment - Pre production - Production (filming) - Post production (distribution) - Exhibition.

I used the editing software that some individual film companies may use for theor short films, also youtubers use the software for their videos.

(final cut)

i challanged some convention of the modern day real life meadia products by producing a silent thriller with no subtitles whatsoever, throwing it back down the the earlier uears of film screen productions.

2. who was the Audience for your media product and how did you attract them in your film?

The audience for our short film would be the youth / young adults becaue they would undertand the circumstances that come up in the thriller and whar we deem to see as humourous parts, the other generations would not get it at all so its not humour appropriate for them.

We attracted our audience by having a quite generic everyday scenario plot but of course it goes wrong in the most drastic way possible we thought of at the time (to suit the thriller genre)

2. who was the Audience for your media product and how did you attract them in your film?

I have learnt during this induction film process that i know absolutly nothing about editing or know how to work the final cut  / imovie software effectivly and efficiently.

As a group, we did not do very well on the editing side becaue every one of us was in the same boat about how to edit, we wasted time trying to figure out everything rather than actually editing

I have learnt that our shoot log and screenplay needs to be a lot more accurate and clear before we start filming because as we were editing and piecing things together we realised we missed filming some clips or having some good parts for our film

time management

  • i completly forgot to record the voice over part which was the main point of the film which was totally my fault

  • editing was done in around 20mins when we should've spent longer to get the best quality we could but unfortunatly for our group we came across some problems like the software not being on our computers for majority of the time

the film was extremly short, even with the slowed down sections and it made no sense whatsoever to anyone outside of the group. even then it was still confusing to us, but we did have fun filming and producing it. it is what it is for now and it was only an induction so we have time to brush up on our skils
