props and locations

this page is all about the props and location that our film 'the investigation' will use and how its similar to the generic thriller props and locations

•Murder weapons e.g bats, gloves, knife and possibly a gun

in most thrillers there is usually a wepon used or some kind of harmful object on hand, these particular ones relate to our film as its a cross between thriller and crime.

police badge

the badge will just be used to establish/ differenciate characters from eachother, otherwise the audience will be confused to who is who in the opening

also the badge will be used as a more convincing prop because it is most probable we wont get the full police uniform just for this opening scene

•Police murder board with pictures and string and rope

this is a key prop in our film, it is the statement piece which shows that this is a thriller x crime mix. it also proves that its a serious film not something that will be fake and unbelievable.

•Anything you would find on a desk e.g coffee mug , pencils, scattered paper

to give the confrence room (police desk) a more belivable look, taking away the school atmosphere to a more outisde, police station looking area

•the woods (improvise with a massive park)

the woods is a key location but of course we are in london so we dont have accsses to a woodland so our group would improvise with a big park close to us, e.g hyde park or battersea

the wood scene in most thrillers always ends with the death of a character or some kind of fighting scene (which our overall story line goes along with- read more on pitch)

MORE INFO ON 'THE INVESTIGATION'

•Board room/ head office (conference room)

we need a main point of contact room, where all the talking happens, we will improvise with the schools conference room. this location wont be used as much in the opneing but will be very important in the wider film

suspect room (classroom)

we will find a room in the school which we can line up suspects and 'take mug shots' preferably the sociology room which is a smaller type of room but has a projector for us to put the height lines on screen in the background making do with our resourses

police station (outside/ across the bridge)

this police station location is a hit or miss, we either will get very lucky and the police station over the bridge will let us use a siren top from one of the squad cars or we will have to create the illusion the sirens with flashing lights and some boxes.
